T: Ohkura-san was dazzling at that time
O: Really? It's probably because there's more lights this time around. (deadpan)
T: I heard about it, you guys have exceeded 100 times of performances at Domes. How does that feel? Do you notice it?
O: Well... no. All these while we just move forward recklessly and didn't notice that it had reached this many. Also I was told that we have had about 500,000 people coming to our dome cons.... we didn't meet that many of people.
T: YOU HAVE.
O: Well, it's that way on statistic but feeling wise, I didn't feel and realize that we have met that many of people.... Every single venue, we just focus on trying to make everyone enjoy the atmosphere together with us and when it ends, we only wonder if today we managed to make everyone happy today? To realize that that sort of feeling/situation had exceed 100 times, it's deeply moving.
T: I have never did concert in Tokyo Dome before so I want to know, to have that many of people in that venue, does their voice and excitement reach the stage?\
O: Of course it does, it feels like some sort of electricity charges.
T: Are there times when you feel like “Wow, today the response is unusually heated!”
O: There are such day. Well, like, the audience probably not so clear about this but we use ear monitor. When we use that, we couldn't hear the audience voice at all. The monitor is for the sake of hearing clearly the music instruments we play and the songs we sing. Without that, from the stage to the end of the dome, there's about 1 second of difference between the moment we play/sing and the moment the audience hear it. (1 second is a lot because people count such thing by miliseconds). So without the ear monitor, we most probably will fall back behind the actual rhythm.
But then, when using that ear monitor, we couldn't hear the audience voice at all and it gave me a sense of loneliness. Therefore, I usually will not completely insert the ear moni (halfway open) so that I can hear their response. Well of course it's not like I sing the whole song to myself so it probably is not all that much of an issue. But when we move among the audience (on the truck), I really want to know the audience response and voice so I keep it that way when I move among the audience.
T: Ah, for the sake of gauging the audience response towards each song? Which is it that their emotion rise high?
O: Yeah, I want to know that. Also, nowadays, I was told that there's ear monitor that can listen to audience voice too but when you use that you cannot listen to your own instrument so it doesn't help too. So I just do it my way and gauge the response from the audience with my ears. The very first day of the tour is always the most honest reaction and response though. Well in this era, you easily get to know things on various channels (con spoilers) so the first day is the most honest reaction when they didn't know what to expect at all. Like for example, the setlist? After the first day, most of them already know how it goes so the reaction is different. They know already what's next so the reaction gauge is a bit you know... it's different. I was being comforted and told that well, there's nothing we can do about that (spoilers) but well, from our side we give a new effort each and every time you know, so we wished we could see a fresh response each time... But I guess it's okay since no matter what everyone seems to be having fun anyway (knowing or not knowing beforehand).
(XD;;..... Tacchon sounds super disappointed about the spoilers. Sorry Tatsu, but spoilers are the only ways some people who can't get any holiday like us survive knowing that there's Eito con going on in Japan. Gomen! We will still do it regardless to survive XD;;)
T: Well, yeah, they have fun regardless. But to listen to the audience response on the first day like that, that requires a lot of courage!
O: Really?
T: Yeah, like, from our side (performers), it's our very first day too, from our side too there's parts that we worry about too (like song or instrument play) if we could do it well or not. So in a way, ear monitor also functions to reduce that feeling of anxiety (to put a distance from the audience response) as we focus completely on the sound of our instrument and our voice.
O: Yeah, there's that too.
T: But still, you insist on leaving the ear monitor half open to hear the audience response (as it could shake your confidence and play if there's possibility that the response is less that what you expect), so from performers point of view, that's really manly!
O: Really??
T: Of course! Like me (half laughing), there's like... there's no way I could have the courage to do that!
O: Lololol, no no no, like Yu-kun, you can't do that because you have to do it all on your own. For us, like me, there's parts where I don't have to do anything so our stance is a bit different
T: lolol even so, this sound so uncool but I could never do that. But I do that for MC at least
O: Well that's the part where we need the most sincere response to see if we should stick to the the current topic or change topic already right?
T: Yeah there's that too but you know, I've been to many concerts are most of them keep their ear moni fully inserted the whole time especially when the venue is large!
O: Well, of course to completely focus on your job as a performer and focus on performing, that by itself is good enough already but like for me, in order to gain something for upcoming works (next tour), gauging audience response on where the audience are more excited and where their response are lackluster is a big plus for me.
Also like for me, when I only have to do drumming, listening (to ear moni with mili seconds of lapse) with just one ear alone is good enough already. Of course, if I completely focus and use both ear monitors (meaning the mili seconds of laps can be erased), I could try to give a close to perfect rthymn but like... -whispers- I think a tiny miliseconds of lapse won't be noticed right?
T: LMAO, there's no lapse! I didn't notice any lapse at all!
O: Lol, to be honest, there's actually some miliseconds lapse
T: Ah, I guess it's the nobody realize level of lapse!
O: Yeah, the members so far didn't say anything too XD;
T: But well, I'm a musician too, so I'd notice it too when there's lapses but I totally didn't notice the lapses in between your drumming so it's fine!
O: Thankfully XD
T:Also this time, how to say it... I think this time, I see Ohkura's “Resolution”
O: What?
T: Yeah, your resolution! Like, how to say it, it's shining!
O: My resolution? (lost tone lol)
T: Yeah, like this time, well, somehow I'm sorry but honestly, my honest focus completely went to Ohkura-kun. Like, in a weird sense, you're like the moon that I'd like to capture (OMG WHAT YU-KUN! LOLOL)
O: WTFFF lolololol
O: Well, well but well (flustered) so this time after the con, I sent a message to Yu-kun to thank him for coming and he replied with a very strong mail.
T: Yeah, like, this time I'm really heated up/passionate. Do-do you hate it?
O: No no no, I don't lol. I'm happy! I just don't know what to respond lol. I'm really thankful especially that there's part that said, “There's such a big gap between the radio you and the tour you.”
T: Yeah, yeah yeah! That's right!
O: You're so fast at agreeing about that (as in radio him is low tension, less reliable lolololol)!!
T: Lololol, but it's true. It's the Ohkura-kun that I never see in this studio!
O: Of course there's no way I could be like that here!!
T: I thought, “Could it be a totally different person??”
O: NOT!
T: That Tokyo Dome's Ohkura-san was shining sooo brightly!
O: Yeah well, well, well, that's the atmosphere that the con staffs helps to create after all (to make the artists shine brightly) right? Right? (Trying to run away. I guess he's embarassed lol)

T: Also! It's been a long while since I've seen people reply me with “I'm going to sleep.”
O: I'm not going to sleep I just... I just REPLIED! What I said was, “Thank you for today Yu-kun! Good night!” and that's it! And you replied back!
T: Yeah! I replied with 2 more heated mails!
O: Your mails sounds like you think I didn't believe what you said and you sent more mail to convince me! You said, “I'm not lying (Uso janai zo (all manly language)! I like blablablabla!! I'm serious!” That makes me further feel that you're just being cautious to me!
T: Ah..... that backfired! I want to just tell you that I honestly feel that way because I guess you got plenty of such mails (that you don't know it's real or not anymore)! Because you see at the seat where I was at, there's so many stars and famous people and musicians there (he came the same day as Jwest, Savanna's Takahashi, Ikimonogakari's Mizuno, Mito-chan, stage play directors such as Suzuki Yumi). So I think, ah, there's so many people who would mail Ohkura-kun about this.
O: Nope, never. You're the only one.
T: I was thinking that ah, maybe his friends mailed him about this too. So I somehow feel bad about it when I keep on like bothering you about what I feel about the con.
O: No, nobody talked about that to me. The only thing they mailed me was “You've became thin huh?” and that's the only types of mails I received this time (XD;;.....)
T: I guess you like that sort of mails better? Compared to my long heated up mails??
O: No, no, no, when I receive that sort of (simple) mails, my only feeling was, “Huh? I lost weight?” and that's it. Simple.
T: lololol.
T: But for me, I think of you even more than that! You're like... the diety!
O: No, no no, all members are that way at that time
T: No-uh. Uwah. You're as expected.
O: What's with the “as expected”!! lololol
T: “Team” “Members” “Group as a whole” That's so you. (Kura's usual theme when complimented as in he deflects it to the group). Of course Kanjani8 is cool! Also, I don't know how the others preceive this (Yu-kun's compliment). And maybe some of them think that I'm being smarmy but I REALLY think like, when you like a person, you want to tell them you like them FOREVER! Like, like, you see, you see, my phone case is Kanjani's Jam phonecase! You know like, for my con, I try to make something that people can use everyday but I think there are times when they go “Uh, I don't want to use this thing with Yu-kun's name so obviously displayed like that (like, you're being viewed as maniac fangirl or sth) but Kanjani's goods, I didn't even think twice before using it!
O: I'm happy. Thank you! You even bought the t-shirt right? (That low key response of yours is the one that gets Yu-kun more fired up Tacchon!!! His tone goes even higher and higher nowww!! My ears!! XD <3)
T: Yeah, AND I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO USE IT AT THE SPECIAL GUESTS seats! Like, goshhhh, I am THE ONLY ONE!?
O: XDDD well a lot wore suits and all so.
T: Yeah but there's Nippon Hoso (ANN studio) staff too you know! Though they sat at different area. And they ordered food and right here we didn't even ever order food! We just want to honestly watch the concert! And they were like, having a home party mood right there! With the snacks whatsoever right there! And all the big higher ups sitting near them just honestly and seriously focus on watching the con and yet the Nippon Hoso staff! They ate and ate! And me at this seat was like -! With my Jam's tour towel around my neck!
O: Oh, oh yes, I forgot to bring the tour goods.
T: No, no, no, I don't want that (for free)! Like come on, let's have it all together we are a team! (Asking the Nippon Hoso staff to buy Jam goods too). But they, they just pointed at my clothes and laughed when they see my Jam Clothes!
O: XDD;;;;; They didn't laugh at you
T: No they do! They were like “Arent you just a fan?” (like aren't you a star too, why are you fanboying like that). I came because I came JUST AS FAN. I CAME JUST TO ENJOY THE CON! (Loudly XD). What's wrong with being just a fan??! (indignant tone)
O: Thank you Yu-kun, thank you for your zeal and passion
T: That, ah that, your response. I think you're telling me that I'm being annoying
O: No, no no! Lololol.I'm happy! The fans who listen too are happy
T: No, no no. Like, seriously. I'm sorry to the fans but somehow I feel bad
O: XD;;....
T: There's another upcoming eito con, I really want them all to go and watch! Also I learn a lot. Like that resolution!
O: Resolution????
T: Yeah, as a performer who stands on the stage, I feel like Ohkura-kun was like “I'm starving myself for you!”
O: I don't think I ever starved myself though
T: No, no like in previous cons, it feels like you've given 100% but this time it felt like you've given 120%!. Even my sister who watched you in Hokkaido said that!
O: Well, even when we have performed at more than 100 domes con, we still feel like we could never relax/lower our guard. By the time we finished performing in Fukuoka, it will be the 106th time. But like, we wouldn't ever know if we would ever be given the opportunity to do the 107th dome con.
T: Ey, don't say such impossible things (there's no way eito wouldn't be given that opportunity)!
O: No, what I mean is, this tour, if this is good then there's possibility of being given a chance to do another tour. If we make the audience feel “Geez... Kanjani is just like this??” then we would never been able to do the 107th dome con. So that is why each con we give it all.
T: Ah... so, even until now you've never forget that 'sense of crisis'
O: This is our 13th year and yet from debut until now, I've never forgotten that 'sense of crisis' feeling.
T: Ah, so each time you do concert you'd be like, “This is most probably the last time”?
O: Each time, I feel that way. “What if this is the last concert?”
T: Ah.... maybe that is the feeling that got conveyed this time. This time it feels reallly different to a higher degree.
O: Well, being able to do a dome con it's not a normal thing. (As in he didn't want to feel complacent about it).
T: Also, stuff like MC or song flow, when and where do you guys decide about it and when you guys think that it is 'for today only' sort of thing? I have always watched Kanjani's concert and I have never understand this.
O: Ah, we're pretty loose when it comes to that. It's pretty much freedom. We don't decide strictly about it.
T: So well, that sort of thing, if there's no accumulation of experience, I don't think such thing can be done easily. (As in change in topics, introduction of topics in MCs where members rarely overlaps and easily goes with whatever flow that anybody introduce)
T: Also, recently I have been called by a music magazine to give my opinion about Kanjani8. They told me that “all the other artists gave a really musical and matter of fact sort of opinion but Takahashi-san, you're just honestly a fan aren't you?”
O: XDDD. You're a renowned singer-songwriter and yet you're called as just a fan??
T: Yeah, at that time I was like, “WTF are you saying???” but then I came to eito con and ah, I realize that I'm really just a fa-

T: …. Ohkura-san keeps on sneezing. So, okay, let's finally start the radio (AFTER 20 MINUTES and 5 pages!! I think this was like almost the longest ANN intro talk everrr! XD), tonight's radio!

1st song tonight. Kiseki no Hito by Sada Masashi-san. Sada san personally interviewed each of them for the type of real life wife that they expect. Tacchon said the members discussed in their break room that it was pretty difficult answer to give lol. So they all wrote it and submit the answer to Sada-san and he compile them into a song.
Yu-kun had gone and watched Homecoming! He said this week is his Ohkura week.
O: I didn't appear in that movie though lol.
T: Well, eito song chosen as Spiderman's theme song is really awesome!
O: Well, that's completely Yasuda-kun's strength. To be able to get his song out of the many songs chosen is a really awesome thing.

Ohkura said a friend saw the half spiderman half eito poster, took the pic and mailed the picture to him lol. Ohkura saved it in his phone lololol. But the picture was taken when he was doing his stage play so when Kura looks at the picture, Kura was like, “I want to shave so badllllyyy” XDD
