Kura: Yu-san….

Yu-kun: You’re wearing something realllly different today.

Kura: 8D? Ah really? I’m always like this though?

 

Yu-kun: *snort* You’re wearing suits, with neck tie and all. And with formal shoes. And even your hair, you slick it all back and it’s gleaming.

Kura: Well, since Yu-san’s album is coming out soon, I decided to be Yu-san’s sales manager 8D/ I received an offer from Warner bros and Amuse 8D/

Yu-kun: No seriously, is something going on?! 8D????

Kura: Nothing’s going on. I was just running around today visiting Tower Records and cd shops checking Yu-kun’s album response. Seems like it’s going well so far 8D

Yu-kun: 8D??? If that’s the case then I’m thankful…?

Btw, Yu-kun’s upcoming album is named “Starting Over” and his upcoming single is “Arigatou”. XD Yu-kun said ANN staffs had been watching him in process of song creation recently, including him hiding in the toilet XD;. Kura said even before tonight’s ANN, Yu-kun was hiding in the toilet all the while. Yu-kun said he’s the type that gets overwhelmed when a lot of things going on at the same time (as in different type of jobs done at the same time), Kura said on the other hand he feels more alive when he has a few jobs at the same time. Kura likes it when he’s busy with various things but Yu-kun is the type who needs to focus on one thing at one time.

Yu-kun said he feels more overwhelmed when he had to do other things during the time when he needs to create song compared to the time when he do any other jobs simultaneously. Last week Yu-kun talk about changing guitar to change his feelings for song creation and this week he talks about maybe he couldn’t create songs in living room. Which is why he hides in toilet a lot and say toilet gives him good atmosphere to focus XD;.

Yu-kun said he writes his song in the bath tub. He didn’t fill it up with water or anything though.

Kura: 8|; What. Yu-kun you’re okay? That sounds borderline dangerous already!

Yu-kun said he wonders how other musicians write their songs though. By the way, Yu-kun said he’s feeling pretty good with his album this time around and he feels a lot more confident about it compared it to his other albums before. He’s excited about it and he really feel like sending it to Kura and make Kura listen to the songs (8D Please not make him listen in public again lol. We don’t need another episode of Kura bawling in public because he got touched by the songs you created XDD). He’s having lots of fun this time around. But Yu-kun is borderline running out of time now though XD;

Yu-kun said he’s the type who does his summer holiday homework during the last minute when the pressure is already strong so XD. Kura said he couldn’t do his summer holiday homework XD.

Yu-kun: LOL WTF?! You DIDN’T do it?!

Kura: 8D I didn’t!

Yu-kun: This is the first time I met such person! XDD

Kura: I do it when the school start again. In between classes 8D. I’m busy during summer holiday you know!

Yu-kun: XDD Busy catching insects, going to the pool and all?

Kura: XD Also, you know during the summer holidays, my parents would plan our holidays somewhere and it’s not like I want to go but since my parents said so, I just follow them~ 8D (bullshit of the century, gosh).

Yu-kun: The homeworks are a lot though! Could you manage to finish it all when school had started?!

Kura: 8D/ I couldn’t. Got scolded by teachers XD. But I was thinking that, this is how we get mature (by getting scolded) XD. But well now, when I am older, I did think that I should have be serious about studies back then.

Yu-kun: Yeah, now that we left school, we finally felt that way. Back when we were studying, we didn’t feel like learning at all.

Kura: Yeah, nowadays I have an academic background complex 8D;. Everyone around me graduated from university and me? I only manage to graduate from junior high school. (Hey dude, you managed to get a high school certificate with excellent result with only 3 months of studying. That’s not something normal, Kura!) I feel embarrassed when I have to say that I only finish junior high school.

Yu-kun: You’re embarrassed? But Ohkura-san, you have something else that others may not have. You have a different talent!

Kura: Yeah, I know. I sometimes want to say that (academic background) shouldn’t matter all that much. But well, from me with a low academic background, there’s time when I’m losing my way about where should I head to and what should I do next during the time when I’m told to make my next decision (what high school to take, what sort of high school to choose) when I am in junior high school.

Kura was told that he suits something that involves cooperative jobs better. But Kura said when he’s now an adult, he thinks that it’s no good to do the same thing as everybody else. But back then, in order to fit in with the society so that he wouldn’t produce an awkwardness with everybody else, he followed what everybody else do that is to continue his formal education to high school (He quit after the first year of high school though). Now that he’s a part of the working society (though he admits that it’s a unique career), he was told that even when you do the same job as everybody else, you shouldn’t be doing it the same way with everybody else. He was also told that you don’t have to compare yourself with anybody else. XD He concludes it with, “You should do your summer holiday homework nonetheless. It affect your life in a long while” XDD

Kura blames himself saying oddly serious things tonight on his suits lololol. Kura wore it for celebration that he went to before ANN though. His friend got married. He couldn’t attend the friend’s wedding ceremony. Since he couldn’t attend the ceremony itself, they end up doing a small celebration after that which is today. He had actually told his friend that he would attend the wedding ceremony. For that sake, for the first time in his life he ordered a custom-made suits. He said that person is an important old man friend of his XD. The friend is 45 years old by the way. There’s quite a gap in their age but he really likes that person so he wants to celebrate that person properly. But then a week before the date itself, a message came and his schedule is filled with work in Osaka instead.

So he couldn’t go. So he went to today’s mini celebration with the suits that he had order made. There’s quite a few of them who attended the party but everybody else wore casual clothes and he’s the only one who’s formal lol. Rather than a party it’s more like a “have a meal” sort of meeting XD. Kura was the only one who set up even his hair while everybody else are really loose lol.

Kura: I told him, “I order made this suit for you!” XD

He even wore sunglasses so they all tease him that he looks like Tamori-san (MSte) XDD. He was teased to hell and beyond lol. Ooh! Kura said he had cut his hair! I wonder how much he had cut! Kura said he was shocked, he was all excited about it and it end up being him teased that he looks like Tamori-san XD.

Kura said he tie his necktie on his own. He acted in a lot of roles where he needs to tie his own necktie. Usually it’s the stylist who did it but he decide to learn it from the stylist and did it on his own instead. XD They talk about the issue of the length of necktie and Kura said the stylist taught him that. He was getting heated up with the necktie talk and the staff is like, “Hurry up and do the title call already!”

Kura: :’( What? Why? Everybody knows it’s ANN

Yu-kun: It’s for sponsorship sake! XD

Yu-kun said during CM Kura was teaching him how to tie his necktie all the while lol. They talk about necktie so much that Yu-kun is thinking of writing a song titled “Necktie” now lololol. Yu-kun said when Kura was talking about the matter of “compulsory education” just now he had started to think about how to associate it with necktie and turn it into song 8D. He goes into details but I’m not going to translate that because I fear it might truly be a song. Had experienced that before with Yu-kun’s Koshien song last time where Kura and Yu-kun talk in details about certain things and it really become a song XD;. The same thing happened with Unmei no Hito song too before XD;

Kura said as he grows older, he realized that the thing called “society” is full of inconsistency.

Yu-kun: 8D;…? Ohkura-san is saying really amazing things tonight!

Kura: No, no, it’s just that I think it’s okay to be different right? It’s a part of someone’s individuality right? I’m not saying this as something against you or something you know 8D; Since you’re “society’s artist” and all

Yu-kun: “Society artist” lolol (Since a lot of Yu-kun’s songs like Ashita wa Kitto is a scenery of a part of someone in the society)

Kura: Your songs are heartwarming (he said ‘heartwarming in English! XD) by the way 8D/ Of course, that sort of song is important too. There’s a lot of dimensions to songs after all

Yu-kun: XD; Thanks!

Kura: The thing about music and songs is that, it is relatable to a lot of people when you sing about it but when you talk about it, it might invite flames instead. Isn’t it scary?

Yu-kun: It’s scary. But well, even songs it sometimes caused such reactions too. Even dramas or movies! Well, like of course, it’s also important to think about how to write a song that won’t make people don’t like it but I think it’s important to not be afraid of it too.

Kura: Yeah, like, there’s no way that one can create a song that is 100% acceptable to everyone. No matter what you create, there’s bound to be criticism somewhere. So when you’re afraid of criticism instead, and create a song that is for the sake of everyone’s acceptance, it will be a song that is complacent instead. The voices of those people (who likes to criticize) are really loud, so it’s not like I’m asking to get used to it but if one were to create songs by being too bothered by that, wouldn’t you end up losing your way?

Yu-kun: Yeah, like even songs for drama, movie etc, if you create a song that is so ‘safe’, I think it’s not what (the critics) aim for too. So for me, if a song ends up receiving strong reactions of “Hey! What is that? Is that even okay?!”, it’s a form of ‘art’ too to me. So for me, even a song that might creates ‘controversy’ or called as ‘problem song’, I’d like people who sings to not step on a ‘safe brake’ for it.

Kura: Yeah, like for example stuff like ‘tsukkomi’, had it been anywhere else in the world, the act of hitting someone else’s head it completely unacceptable right? So if we were to just follow everyone else’s criticism and stop doing ‘tsukkomi’ instead, the value of the (boke-tsukkomi) comedy would be gone! It makes me wonder, would our tv remains interesting if it becomes that way. ….. Is it okay for me to continue talking? I feel like I’m leading us to a strange direction now.

Yu-kun: No, no! It’s okay!

Kura: Like, even for our radio too, like last week, the fetish talk. I’m very sure that there’s a lot of criticism regarding that too. But well, it’s because we’re talking about it here that people feel like criticising it right? If it’s a talk at bars, people might probably said worse things that what was said in our last radio. So to criticize about that here is like a bit… I dunno, I think.

Yu-kun: I understand what you’re trying to say. From our side, we don’t have any particular intention to hurt anyone at all with what we said here. We were not trying to slander anyone too.

Kura: Ohkura-kun and Takahashi-kun are just talking. That’s all.

(8D I guess they receive some criticism during last week’s radio show)

Yu-kun said the wonderful thing about radio is conveying it from one person to another one person at the end of the radio. He said everybody probably follows to their radio shows through different mediums (such as SNS) but for Yu-kun and Kura, the sound that they are conveying to the listeners are in more real time than the writings that they saw. So it’s fine to accept it as it is right now. Later, when you go to school and meet your friends the next day, if you discuss about, “Hey, what do you think about what they said yesterday?” or you talk about it on SNS , they are thankful but they’d rather you just listen to them without thinking too much about the depth of their words (Such as fetish talk of last week, they are just following the theme and that’s it). If listener ends up dissecting every words of theirs, they’d find it hard to say anything (8D; I think either Kura or Yu-kun saw some comments or rumor pages about who they were thinking of when they’re talking about their fetish or sth like that)

Yu-kun said it’s not like they don’t accept criticism at all. It’s just that, if listener go all out and be like, “You definitely cannot say that!!” it’d be harder to accept it compared to “Hey, Yu-kun, that’s kinda embarrassing eh?” sort of comment.

Kura: Yeah. But I think most of the time, listener probably couldn’t care less about what we said though 8D XDD

Yu-kun said of course there’d be time when they’re gonna talk about serious things but to expect them to be like that all the time is a bit, yeah. (8D Gosh please no, I like my ANN crazy.)

Kura said when something becomes an internet news, they make it sounds as if the whole Japan thinks that way and that’s what he hate. He’d be like, “What, you think 1 hundred million people all thinks like that?!” XD The rebel.

Kura said if it’s like hundreds or millions people who said that as being ‘something wrong’ then yeah, it’s probably something that needs considering but he took example of a class of 40 students, with 2 person disagree with what he said and that two person reports that to the teacher. The teacher would probably just listen to the loud opinion of that two persons while disregarding the fact that the other 38 students didn’t even find any issue with that statement.

Yu-kun: That sort of people (the critics) usually have the louder and stronger voice though for some reasons. Like, it’s not every everything that such person said is ‘the correct thing’ anyway. But the scarier thing is people with no particular opinion at all. They didn’t agree but they didn’t disagree too.

XD For the second time tonight, there’s something that Kura is actually trying to convey but he couldn’t conclude what he’s trying to express again which makes Yu-kun goes “8D???” again XD. But seems that Yu-kun gets the gist of what Kura is trying to convey and worded it for Kura instead XD.

Kura: Somehow, like, negative opinions and words, they have really strong power and forces right? Even when there are not all that many of them. Like, words that want to make people think bad of a particular person, or bad mouthing them. That sort of words, they have really strong power and leave lasting impressions to people. But when the same number of people, saying something good about the same thing, they don’t have equal amount of power or strength as the negativity. It requires more people who says good things about that particular topic in order to overcome the negative opinions and forces. It makes me wonder, why is it like that?

(Hmm… did Kura read or saw something on SNS that is particularly unfavourable especially something that involves bad mouthing or false stories? …..Ryo’s Friday? There had been a discussion with radio personalities regarding that gossip this week and the panels are sceptical about the story. They say even the picture could be taken from someone who is not Ryo’s girlfriend who is close to him and have access to his room. It might be a pic that starts as a prank but the data may get stolen and all. There’s a lot of discussion that refutes the rumor but the discussion didn’t manage to circulate at all compared to the initial Friday magazine report that got circulated in thousands within a few hours)

Yu-kun: When you say good things, it requires a lot of perseverance to get it conveyed. Positive stuffs like, “Dreams will come true!” “If you work hard, it will all work out”, people will have harder time to believe that sort of words compared to words such as “Reality is not that easy!” “It will not come true!” From our positions, we’re the people who needs to convey that “dreams do come true” message though. But for us it’s not a matter of course sort of word too and in many ways, we need to properly convey that (life) it’s not all that bad too, you know? And we’re not all that bad of a person too, y’know?

Kura: Hmm… I think I know why I said really serious things today. It’s because I’m being strangled by the necktie 8D/

Yu-kun: Yeah well, Ohkura-san, you have always been a pretty earnest/serious person after all.

Kura: No, no, it’s the suits fault! 8D;

Yu-kun: Yeah well, you have been fixing your necktie four times already by now and that last time you fix it so tight to your neck that I wonder if you’re even breathing 8D;

Kura: I think if I need to have a serious conversation in future I’m gonna wear this suit again. 8D I’m gonna dry clean this suit after this. So when I feel like being in a serious mode again I’m gonna wear this suit again 8D/

Kura & Yu-kun: lolololol (Kura is embarrassed awn XD)

Yu-kun said it’s a very easy word but it’s hard to say it and you usually end up feeling embarrassed when you want to say this word, but he thinks, isn’t it wonderful to properly say “Thank you” to someone?

Phone call from 15 years old male student.

LMAO, Kura saw on the news the latest craze about way of confession through LINE where the word disappear once the reader saw it.

The caller acknowledged that the people at his school use that and say that they mostly people with mother-complex XD;

The student got stung by bees, lose his consciousness and got sent to hospital. He was told that he has massive allergy to bees poison and if he’s stung by bees the second time, he’ll be getting anaphylactic shock and he might die.

Kura: Didn’t you talk about that to your girlfriend?

Caller: It’s not that important.

Kura: It’s important!

Caller: I guess so.

Yu-kun: You need to be more careful! The next time you got stung, you might get anaphylactic shock!

Kura: Yamapi will come to save you with his helicopter! (The caller said he’s gonna watch Code Blue movie with his girlfriend next week) XD No seriously, you shouldn’t go to forest anymore!

Yu-kun: (Letter) The type of stomach ache where the feces wouldn’t come out.

Kura: Rather than irritated I’m plain scared of it. I have experienced intestinal occlusion once after all.

Kura: (Letter) Your girlfriend put her head on your shoulder. You thought she’s trying to be sweet but she’s actually doing the “Hmmm” monomane.

Yu-kun: Rather than irritated I’m scared. Feels like she’s a psycho instead. 8D; (Yu-kun has voice fetish btw)

Kura said he dislike it when people impersonate the artist’s voice when they sing the song of a particular artist. He wants them to sing with their own voice. If he sees people do that, he’ll sing together with another microphone and drown that person’s voice out XDD. Kura has so many rules about karaoke!

They talk about interesting way to send messages through LINE. Kura didn’t really know because he mainly just use normal mail because he didn’t want people to know that he has read the mail. When the LINE had shown that he has read the mail, he feel obligated to reply it which is pressurizing. (IDK about LINE but I disabled the “already read” notice of my whatsapp. The only thing they know is that either I have received the mail or not. 8D)

Kura: You have to write 13 songs? Are you okay? You’re not feeling suffocated now?

Yu-kun: 8D I’m fine! When I’m feeling suffocated, you’ll always accompany me by my side anyway!

Kura: I accompanied you but well, I guess suffocation is necessary to express it as an art.
